Our immune system is naturally very powerful – when we don’t do everything we can to shut it down! It’s as crazy as it sounds, because we often work against it, in our modern lifestyle…
Here are a couple of very effective things you can start doing today to boost your natural defences:
1. Cut down or if possible, eliminate sugar from your diet.
Sugar creates lots of inflammation in the body, thus making it weaker against all external attacks.
I know this sounds paradoxical, as we all know that fever, which is a form of inflammation, comes up for the very purpose of burning any external intruders… so why would inflammation make us weaker against say, the flu?
It’s because fever is a punctual, emergency-measure kind of inflammation, triggered by a threat.
What I am talking about here is chronic inflammation, of which most of us suffer to different degrees, that’s not triggered by a sudden threat, but is caused by our lifestyle. And this kind of inflammation means our body is in constant high alert, which confuses our defences. Sugar is one of the main causes of chronic inflammation.
Avoiding sugar does not mean that you cannot have a great choice of gorgeous, naturally sweet(ened) desserts!

2. Remove as many causes of stress as possible.
Stress is a wonderful survival mechanism that will make you run into safety if you’re threatened by fire or by dangerous animals. It summons all your strength and concentration and gives you a few minutes of superpowers to help you fight or run for your life.
There again, same as with inflammation, stress is a great emergency measure, but when it becomes chronic, it makes you dangerously weak. That’s because when the priority is keeping you alive short term, building up muscle to punch viruses and bacteria in the face, doesn’t seem that relevant.
Stress temporarily shuts down your immune system. And if you’re permanently stressed, then your immune system is permanently shut down.
3. Get out into nature, and in touch with the ground.
So many of us live in concrete. Our buildings, our squares and streets, everywhere we go it’s concrete and tarmac. Add on top of that, most of us wear artificial rubber soles all the time. This means that we are completely insulated from the electromagnetic field of the Earth.
Science has shown many times how this separation from our planet’s energy field is detrimental to our health.
You want to get out there, and walk on the earth, barefoot or in natural, or in grounding shoes, sit and lie on the ground, no matter if it’s grass, or rocks, or sand, or bare soil. The matter our bodies are made of, belongs to the planet, and it cannot be separated from it for too long, if we want it to remain healthy.
4. Nourish your body and soul.
That’s my main motto, as you know! If you eat bad food, and consume bad media, guess what you get? Again, a dangerously weakened immune system.
It’s hard to tell what’s worse, processed foods, devoid of nutrients and full of chemicals, or negative thoughts, devoid of love, and full of fear…
Eat beautiful, fresh, natural, seasonal & regional foods, and watch funny, inspiring, artistic, positive information and entertainment. Stay away from poisons and venom!
5. Get your Omega-3 levels right!
